of foreign languages - 2026

Course S1 - Introduction to the Training (1 weekend) online

Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June 2026 online

Registrations open

At the end of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued

The S1 online course is open to all and is preparatory to the complete training, which will be held in person and online

The complete training will be held at the Monastero del Bene Comune of the Stimmatini at Sezano di Verona

The dates of the complete training will be agreed with the pupils after the S1 course

The training in audio-psycho-phonology according to the Tomatis method is structured upon a gradual course of 5 theoretical-practical courses denominated

- S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, the first of one weekend and the following 4, S2, S3, S4 and S5, of two weekends each,

- a personal course of 70 hours of sessions with the Electronic Ear,

- an Audio-Vocal Workshop

- a final weekend of deepening, S6.

The training therefore comprises:

the 1st theoretical-practical course, of the duration of 1 weekend, is preparatory to the complete training and is open also to all those who wish to know the method better from a theoretical-practical point of view, without necessarily having to continue the training.

The advanced course, constituted of 4 theoretical-practical courses of the duration of 2 weekends each, of the Audio-Vocal / Audio-Instrumental Workshop (1 weekend), of the personal sessions with the Electronic Ear and of a weekend of deepening. The personal sessions with the Electronic Ear are a necessary condition for a correct comprehension of the method, so as then to be able to apply it to other people.

To accede to the advanced course, the pupils must present a project of work with the method, specifying how they intend to integrate it within the sphere of their professional activity and the reason for the choice of the Tomatis method. A copy of the qualifications (degree or equivalent) and at least 3 years of professional experience in the sector where they intend to apply the method are required.

The documentation may be sent by email to favour the evaluation times.

Each candidature is carefully studied, taking account of what is indicated above.

After having followed the introductory course S1, the pupils who have not already done so begin the course of personal didactics of 70 hours of listening sessions with the Electronic Ear (the Tomatis method).

The advanced course of 8 weekends is constituted of the courses denominated S2, S3, S4, S5, each distributed over two weekends. Most of the weekends of the second-level course will, for obvious didactic reasons, be held in person at the Monastero del Bene Comune of Sezano, situated on the Veronese hills of the Valpantena, where it is possible to stay overnight, to lunch and to dine.

At the end of the S5 course a check of the knowledge acquired will be carried out and, to the pupils who have completed the preceding stages — including the Audio-Vocal Workshop and the personal sessions with the Electronic Ear — a certificate of attendance will be issued, which will permit the purchase, from qualified manufacturers, of the equipment necessary for the application of the method and that falls within the standards laid down by Professor Alfred Tomatis.

The weekend of deepening and of revision of the knowledge will be carried out within a year of the beginning of the use of the method.

The training will be held by Dr Concetto Campo, who will avail himself, if necessary, at his discretion, of audio-psycho-phonologist colleagues or operators of other disciplines.

In the spirit of this course, the qualitative level of the professional and personal training of the pupil is held to be essential, both at the clinical and at the pedagogical level, so that, besides the teaching of the theory and of the practical use of the equipment, the aim of the training is to direct the pupil onto a path of therapeutic growth as conformable as possible to the thought of Alfred Tomatis.

Dr Concetto Campo, psychologist, was trained in the method by Alfred Tomatis at his training institute in Paris in the second half of the 1980s.

Dr Campo had with Professor Alfred Tomatis an intense didactic association and a close working collaboration, with moments of sharing on the profound meaning of listening and of the therapy centred upon it. Dr Campo's personal listening sessions with the Electronic Ear were followed directly by Prof. Alfred Tomatis.

In 1997 Dr Campo was authorised by Tomatis to train new therapists.

In recent years various personal elaborations and interpretations of the theoretical thought and of the practical applications of the Tomatis method have spread — equipment that has little or nothing to do with the dispositions left by Tomatis concerning its construction, calibration and regulation during the various phases of the re-education, as well as simplified forms of the method that do not take account of the importance of the presence of the therapist during the listening training.
The setting of our training work proposes to respect the spirit and the practice of the method, as they were transmitted to us by Dr Alfred Tomatis.

We consider ourselves, above all, free from conflicts of interest. Our training is not aimed at the sale of equipment. We do not train in order to have equipment of our own production bought or leased.

The training course in audio-psycho-phonology does not issue professional qualifications; it has the aim of teaching an educational technique to be applied within the sphere of one's own profession.
