Concetto Campo graduated in psychology at the University of Padua with a thesis on the perceptual differences of social roles, subsequently obtaining his qualification to practise the profession of psychologist.
He collaborated as a volunteer psychologist with the Psychiatric Services of the Historic Centre of Venice.
After having gained various experiences in the field of psycho-bodily techniques, he began to take an interest in the works of Professor Alfred Tomatis. He then specialised in audio-psycho-phonology (the Tomatis method) at the Centre Tomatis de Formation under the supervision of Professor Tomatis himself, and with him he undertook the personal course of sessions with the Electronic Ear.
He subsequently collaborated with him in Paris, in his centre, and after having gained a solid experience at his side, he opened a centre for the application of the method in Verona, and subsequently another in Rome.
In the second half of the 1990s he introduced the Tomatis method in Sweden, contributing to its diffusion in the country through conferences and seminars at various public and private institutions, among them the Huddinge hospital, a branch of the Karolinska Institute of Stockholm. He worked with the method in the cities of Stockholm and Båstad for three years.
In 1997 he was authorised by Alfred Tomatis to teach audio-psycho-phonology, and he organises and directs the training courses in the method in Italy.
He collaborated with the University of Ferrara for the training of specialised educational operators.
He collaborates with various European centres for the training of new therapists of the method.
He was a teacher in the project for the training of 200 audio-psycho-phonology therapists, commissioned by the Polish government and organised in 2007 by the Tomatis centre of Warsaw.
He was a teacher within an Elective Course of Music Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Verona.
He teaches a seminar of psychoacoustics according to Tomatis within the Specialisation Course in Music Therapy of the "F. E. Dall'Abaco" Conservatory of Music of Verona.
He collaborates with daily newspapers and magazines, among them Repubblica Salute, Repubblica Musica, Alto Adige, Gazzetta del Sud, Musica Domani, Lettere Meridiane, Calabria Letteraria, Riza Scienze, Riza Psicosomatica, Figli Felici.
It is very important to know that, following Dr Tomatis's withdrawal from the direction of the Centre Tomatis de Formation of Paris in 1996, and within the space of a few months, most of the Italian and French centres, and those of the rest of Europe, decided to have no further relations with the Centre, while remaining nonetheless in close and continuous contact with Alfred Tomatis. In France many centres closed for good. This was on account of the orientation taken by the new direction of the institute, which was no longer in the continuity of his work and which Tomatis himself did not support. Since then numerous countries have reorganised themselves into schools and associations so as to permit the continuity of the work and of the corpus of knowledge.
